This tea set, which includes, a teapot and four matching cups, is inspired by Hans Christian Anderson's tale, The Emperor an the Nightingale.
A sick man, who lives in the most sumptuous and palatial surroundings, is restored to health by the simple song of a nightingale. The story is a powerful affirmation of the incomparable beauty of the natural world.
Made from black clay (very much like black basalt), this set is glazed on the outside to give a cast iron look without the weight. The contrasting teapot lid and cup interiors are glazed, with a floral decoration and the nightingale himself can be found perched on the teapot lid.
As with all our teapots, Emperor's bird, has a removable stainless steel filter, for a perfect cup of loose leaf tea, every time and easy cleaning when you are done!
